IMPORTANT REMINDER TO BIND YOUR ACCOUNT!

  • JP players can bind via binding code or Twitter account.
  • EN players can bind via Twitter account, Facebook account or Yostar account. Recommended to use Yostar Account due to uncertainty with Twitter and Facebook. These options are in Settings.
  • Use at least one account bind option; use multiple if you want to be safe.
  • If your device is lost, damaged, or a game update breaks the app and forces you to reinstall you could permanently lose your account.
  • EN accounts are easiest to recover with an account bind; make sure to bind your account in the settings and only use the login screen binding buttons to reconnect your account.
  • Using the login screen buttons without a bound account will create a new account for you and effectively erase your progress with no way of recovering it outside of contacting customer support. JUST DO IT.
  • Make sure you are selecting the correct server and method of binding when using a new device.

NOTE: It's also a good idea to remember your server and take a screenshot of your Profile Page so that customer support has an easier time recovering your account.

what's the best ways to get tech points for a nation? Is it just running catchup and upgrading ships of that nation, or is there more?

Kuniiko

Hi. I have deactivated my fb account 2 months ago but my AZ still linkef with my fb. I tried binding with another platform but it doesnt let me, it needs me to disconnect from fb first… but the thing is my acc is already gone. What should I do?? I have spent a lot of money in game so I really dont wanna lose my progress

Nice-Spize

Then contact customer support about your dilemma to ask them to detach it from your account, I would also advise you to create a Yostar account and bind your game account with it for a better experience I leave an email link down below the comments for an unrelated question but do require customer support

Double_Cauliflower_5

So I have a question regarding priority ships. When gaining exp for the relevant quest and I have a mono team for the faction (in my case ironblood), once all of my main team ships used for grinding exp all reach max level, will I have to start using new ships to gain the exp or can I still use my main team?

cheekywarship2018

You can still use the fleet as the XP earned by them still counts ven if it says +0. Personally though I wouldn't use capped out ships for farming since it's wasting XP.

Double_Cauliflower_5

I see, and I'm currently just going through the main story and the occasional events. Though I don't play the game very often so it has been taking me forever to make any real progress.

Nice-Spize

Don't worry, the XP grind is always the easy part as the real grind is getting enough blueprints to make them worth using Luckily, PR1 to PR3 and DR2 ships can be enhanced with coins after unlocking them to speed up the progress So that leaves Drake and the entire PR4, PR5 not having it

Smoconnor06

If it was between Roon or her Idol version (With the regular having max dev level) Who would be better, I would guess regular, if so would regular already be better without the dev level or no? Ty for your time.

Nice-Spize

Roon muse, her guns aren't messed over by the ammo switching skill which have aged poorly over the years and the u version have damaging shields + free barrage up close That said, I would also take the OG Roon as well since you can just use coins to enhance her and she's still a very solid CA to have even years after her debut

cheekywarship2018

Roon Muse, regular Roon's damage is scuffed by her ammo-changing skill. Roon has to be at Dev 30 for the two to comparable, before Dev 30 Roon Muse is flat out the better ship.

Smoconnor06

Thank you I’m only just starting to get the research ships so I’m learning, so it more like there equal with the dev 30?

cheekywarship2018

They're on more equal footing but Roon Muse wins on DPS so she's better still even with regular Roon at Dev 30.

Smoconnor06

Ty ty

autosynth

Is there any way to reliably/comfortably grind purple AUX plate?

Nice-Spize

Also the weekly supply pack gives 20 purple universal plate selector so you can edge out 20 extra aux plate each week

cheekywarship2018

Not really seeing as plate drops are random as to the what type they are. Just grinding your usual farming spot or the event will net you enough over time though.

autosynth

Alright, gotcha & thanks. Been rationing my AUX plates like I'm in the trenches compared to how many other type of plates I have.

cheekywarship2018

It's understandable seeing as you need two auxes for every ship.

Clockwokis

Our of curiosity, when does fleet comp, gear, and rarity really start to matter?

ninaisunderrated

I was able to more or less brute force my way through the main campaign past 12-4 through having L120-125 ships and a mob fleet with Unicorn. I hit a wall at world 13, specifically 13-2's boss. I think that's the first time I *really* noticed fleet comp etc. importance. For OpSi, you can brute force a win from most normal arbiter fights through resting the fleets over and over. The hard mode arbiter doesn't allow this and requires great fleet comps. Rarity doesn't always mean better - see the ECTL for examples. Same with some gear rarity, such as the purple SB2C-Helldiver being better than almost all gold dive bombers.

Nice-Spize

Rarity doesn't play much role in determining how good that gear/ship are, a lot of times a blue rarity ship that's well leveled and geared correctly will do far more than a gold/rainbow ship carrying crappy equipment As for how you progress, it kinda depends on how you go with the flow although I guess chapter 6 is where you'll start learning on how to set up a proper fleet in preparation for late game stages where you simply can't wing it with whatever you have which are chapter 13 and 14

cheekywarship2018

Rarity is frankly irrelevant as often times in this game lower rarity ships and gear are better than higher rarity ones. As for meta. It depends really on what you mean by starts to matter. Most content in this game you can clear with any fleet but a good comp will be able to do it more easily, at lower levels, and with less investment. Where you basically hit a wall where you can't just run whatever and get away with for the main campaign I'd say is W13 which is where can't just over-level and power through and you actually need to properly counter the main threats of the chapter. For OpSi it's Harbiter as with almost everything else you can just leave and heal in port though it does get annoying of you have to do it too often.

Hata-san

is it possible to auto the current ex stage? if so, I would love to know which combination of ships can do it (including the equipment if possible).

zenithtreader

Yes, but as with all EX auto fleet, it's kinda sorta expensive to do. [https://streamable.com/v5n7zu](https://streamable.com/v5n7zu) Also copious amount of resets might be needed. Edit: Basically if your first reload isn't able to kill Ghidorah or the main tank dies early, it's time to reset. Edit2: Biscuit's skill is 10/10/9 Fleet tech BB reload is 17, I also have double Flame and Soulful Warriors on my cats.

Hata-san

I have everything, even the stacked cats... except bisko2, she's 120 (10/9/8). Damn, maybe I'll try with NJ or search for a CV comp. Thanks\~

zenithtreader

Musashi NJ Implacable should do it. [https://streamable.com/jqlyn8](https://streamable.com/jqlyn8) I am not going to bother with anymore resetting, but this was the 3rd run and she was down to 0.5%, it's can't be that hard lol.

Hata-san

inb4 that was 1 in a million run. lol btw what's the cv reload tech? thanks again and sorry for the trouble.

zenithtreader

39 35 was the previous limit, 4 from META CVs since the patch. You can probably also just reduce BB reload by a few points for Implacable to keep up.

Hata-san

[I think I'm fine.](https://i.imgur.com/zeLvobl.png) did 1 attempt, leave bisko2 with 6 bars, guess it's time for reset fest. thanks bro!

Kumiho-Kisses

Being a relatively slow Commander at developing Research Ships, seeing Harbin's Oath Skin confirmed and previewed has motivated me to switch my Shipyard focus to her from Brest. Hence, I wanted to ask what others found the most useful Dragon Empery Vanguard set-up to farm her with? I have both An Shan and Chang Chun retrofit with their Missile and Seal of the Four Gods equipment. However, because several of the other Dragon Empery shipgirls offer class or faction buffs (Yat Sen with Ping Hai and Ning Hai; Hai Chi and Hai Tien), I am unsure whether deploying both -- or even just *one* \-- of the DDGs is considered the best option at all? Similarly, since there are (or at least, *my* Dock has) only two Dragon Empery Main Fleet ships, CVLs Chen Hai and Hwah Jah, whom did you sortie in the backline to your Harbin-farming Vanguard? ETA: Many thanks for the suggestions! Prior to asking, I was vaguely aware that the Dragon Empery faction was weak, but I did not quite realize how abjectly *atrocious* their shipgirls' performance actually is, outside of Harbin, Yat Sen retro., and the DDGs. It is particularly a shame considering how some of them also have really pretty skins; it makes me wonder if the DE will ever receive some proper developer love? ![img](emote|t5_3p20d|7008) /u/cheekywarship2018 /u/hexanort /u/Loymoat /u/Rafaeael /u/Shouko21

Nice-Spize

The DE do get new content but it's once a year and during lunar new year itself since let's face it, the Chinese have very pathethic naval force and the majority of them are really old ships or civilian vessels This year was Yat Sen's massive buff in the form of her retrofit that no longer made her dependent on Ning/Ping Hai to tank properly which is very awesome considering that she was released back in early 2019 with very lackluster stat

Rafaeael

How to quickly create a fleet for PR grinding: 1 Go to dock and filter based on PR ship's requirements (position and faction). 2 Pick 3 of the eligible ships that aren't maxed out yet prioritizing those that you want to level up. 3 Make sure your combinations isn't countered by your farmplace (i.e. don't bring triple BB or multiple no-AA gun frontliners to W12-13; don't use triple CV in W11). 4 Next, remove the faction filter and swap to the other half of the fleet (backline if you're grinding frontline; frontline if you're grinding backline). 5 Pick 3 ships that aren't maxed out yet prioritising those that you want to level up. 6 Same as point 3. 7 Done. There's no point thinking about "the best" combination since it's just farming, you can bring whatever garbage ships you have and they will still survive. If you're farming frontline exp, you don't care about the faction of backliners, they're there to just get exp for themselves.

Shouko21

Yat Sen Retro is a very good mob tank when sortied at least one other DE ship. One of the best mob tanks and does a respectable amount of damage. The only meta DE ships are Yat Sen Retro, DDGs, and Harbin. So pair the DDGs with Yat Sen to research Harbin. You only need vanguard experience to get Harbin. The DE main ships are among the worst. They use seaplanes and are much weaker than normal planes. You can level them for the 120 RLD fleet tech bonus. But would not recommend using them otherwise.

hexanort

Aside harbin herself, Yat Sen + the two DDG is currently the only non-trash dragon empery vanguard, so they're the good choice for it. Also dont use dragon empery main fleet for farming harbin, there's no benefit of running them because harbin only ask for vanguard exp, and any minor faction buff they have doesnt warrant their terrible stats and loadout.

Loymoat

Yat Sen becomes a very strong tank that just needs any Empery ship for her buffs after her trtrofit, so you don't need Ping or Ning Hai with her. Just stick with leveling the Yat Sen and the DDGs as they're the best Empery vanguard ships (excluding Harbin ofc). Your backline doesn't matter as long as it gets the job done. You only need Empery vanguard exp. Only the CBs switch it up between vanguard/main exp between CDC 1 and 2.

cheekywarship2018

Frankly, most of the other Dragon Empory ships absolutely suck to the point where using their faction buffs to try and justify their placement in a fleet is the equivalent of polishing a turd. The only other DE ships worth using and raising outside of fleet tech purposes and the DDGs is Yat Sen. Post retrofit she doesn't need to be sortied with Ping Hai or Ning Hai to activate her evasion rate self-buff, just another DE ship and her retrofit also improves her damage output a fair bit turning her into a really good mob tank. As for farming xp. I just used 3 main fleet ships that needed leveling as Harbin only takes vanguard XP. Chen Hai and Hwa Jia do give CV reload tech though but they're so bad that I deliberately waited until one was finished before working on the other,

ninaisunderrated

So for pvp (missing Musashi and Shimakaze) I currently have Aquila/VV/Uni, Anch/Aya/Duca - intention being to swap in NJ for Uni once she reruns. Do you think it'd be worth throwing BZ into Uni's spot instead? Once I get NJ, would it be worth running both BBs, and who would you swap out for them?

CrippleMyDepression

Current PVP meta (with explanation and commentary) can be found [here](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1BewmBsf4EWKAf_UwYax05c7ksL51y6sjs96pIwD73Jc/edit?usp=drivesdk), thanks to people on the ALM discord. At the moment, triple BB is meta over the old preload fleets, so Uni is super out of place in a serious fleet. BZ hasn't been out long enough to go through proper testing, but I would imagine she could sub in for pretty much any BB you don't have in the main comps. If you have Seydlitz for instance then you could likely get away with FDG, Seydlitz, and Biscuit as a modified MK Ultra fleet, though you'll probably feel the fact that she isn't the tank Musashi is.

zenithtreader

Yes, Biscuit Z should be much better than Uni. More testing is needed to see if she is better or NJ. NJ is quite a bit tankier, and her early barrage is advantageous. BZ, however, has blackhole and hits much harder against light armour, which is potentially better at wiping out opponent's vanguard faster.

MLGDOGE-0526

Wha'ts a steady and reliable way to get gems? Or is it just the main campaign?

cnen

The most steady and reliable way for me has been buying them from Akashi. The commissions are neither steady nor reliable for getting gems.

Kumiho-Kisses

![img](emote|t5_3p20d|7016) *salutes wallet-chan* ![img](emote|t5_3p20d|7016)

zurcn

there is a finite number of gems in the campaign and collection rewards. after that you the only source of gems is the rare and chance based commissions that give ~13-20 gems, waiting for the server anniversary and lunar new year for free gems or simply buying them.

EvenMorePerfect

What is the easiest and best plane to get for AvP to trigger her equipment skill?

Nice-Spize

BF-109G rocket fighter from PR4 Ju-87 D-4 torpedo bomber from gear lab

cheekywarship2018

Bf-109G or Ju-87d.

sukaize

Anyone know around when the Azur lane Anniversary for EN is?

Chuuudas

Late august

Phantica

Are there any setups for BBs CVs CVLs CLs and DDs that are just general use and can clear most if not all content? (I’m lazy :])

ninaisunderrated

Setups meaning fleet comp. or gear?

Phantica

Gear

Nice-Spize

Then I suggest checking out the ECTL and gear guide above

cheekywarship2018

For vanguards equips don't really change so you can very much set and forget them for the most part. Main fleets ships it works for most content but only because most content isn't hard enough to optimize for. Once you do hit late game changing gear for the situation pretty much becomes a necessity. The alternative solution at least for OpSi anyway is to just have multiple boss fleets set up so you don't have to change gear. Check out the ECTL and Sam and Nerezza's gear guides linked above for more info on gear.

harald_fem

In a PvP fleet of Hiryuu, Musashi, Shinano and Anchorage, Harbin, Juneau, who gets the Tears? I had it on Yuudachi all this time but I realized I had Harbin maxed out already so I'm switching the two. Also, I've been running UR Table + Beaver on Musashi for a long while. Is that still a good idea now or should Beaver go back to Anchorage and something else for Musashi?

zenithtreader

You want a washing machine and EDC on Anchorage, two speed increasing aux on Juneau (the faster your vanguard moves, the higher chance they have at dodging enemy BB shells. You also don't want Juneau to be THAT durable anyway so it's better she has a bit less HP), so that lefts Harbin. Your aux setup is fine for Musashi.

harald_fem

Yep, I run those current equipment you mentioned. Tears on Harbin then, alongside the black 533 magnetic aux torps I suppose?

zenithtreader

I personally run Shima with black dildo in the middle. Harbin is much more defensive oriented so you might just want to make her even harder to kill with quad/rainbow magnetic and washing machine.

harald_fem

I'd also run Shima (and NJ) if I had them ![img](emote|t5_3p20d|7008) But yea, since I'm going with the IJN CVs guess I'll just try to make the vanguard tough to kill as possible to give time for airstrikes

kyoshiro_y

For me, it is usually the off-tank. My reasoning is Anchorage's tanky enough, so the Repair Kit and the Yelow Mai-Mai machine qre enough. Juneau has her own skill. So it's either Noshiro/Harbin.

Cryocaesar

I don't know if this has been answered elsewhere, but I can't finish An Shan's retrofit to get her Main Fleet Mode, even after taking her out of all of my fleets. Is it bugged?

Zroshift

It is a node that you toggle, not finish iirc.

hexanort

The final retrofit node for DDG is a toggle to switch between main and vanguard mode, it cant be "finished"

Abdullah_Abulkhair

Man that is happening to me since implacable banner and someone told me that you need to get off the game 10 minutes before the day reset, I did that and it does work like 90% of the times but it's really annoying to optimize your commission and at the end of the day you need to everything

kyoshiro_y

Lexington, doesn't happen to me. However, I usually check it when it's close to after 8am UK time and the last time that I checked it is 1am UK time.

Lexumunous

No issues for me, everything's as normal. Just to cover all bases; Do you close the client completely before checking for the new daily commissions? Sometimes the game doesn't update properly on rollover while logged in which can cause some time-based elements to hang among other oddities. You're checking at the same time everyday? If you have a local time change (eg. Daylight savings), the game doesn't reflect this as server time is based on a fixed time zone. Otherwise report as a bug in discord or email.

[deleted]

Lexumunous

Can try repairing assets in the settings menu and see if that fixes anything. You can also bind your account and try reinstalling the game from scratch.

DoctorSpecial7504

I am new to azur lane and now it's been 4 months playing this game. Now i have a lot of ships (I love the gacha rates). But I am having difficulty with dock space. I have maxed out tech upgrade for it and even spent all my gems just on dock space (I wanted to save for skins so bad). So my problem is... What will I do when I run out of gems?! I saw people hacving space of 1000! Do you need to spend a lot of gems for that?

Zroshift

As a F2P player, your gems should be going towards dock space and class room slots. Skins and oath rings should be the last thing you spend your gems on. As a new player, you have access to gems atm. However they will run out eventually and become harder to come by as you progress. Outside of clearing story chapters, completing collections, the rare gem commissions, you pretty much run out of gems unless you spend on the game. They sometimes give us 200 gems every now and then for reaching certain milestones, but don't count on those happening frequently. If you want a lot of dock space, then you have to spend premium currency. You can sacrifice the collection rate for space. That is what I did for a long time.

cheekywarship2018

As a F2P, I have currently 630 dock space but this was accumulated over the course of more than 2 years last I checked half the gems used were obtained from time-gated events such as Annis and Lunar New Year. If you want more dock space you're gonna have to spend real money to buy gems or start tossing ships.

Nice-Spize

If you're a F2P, stop spending gems on skins, it's not worth it And yes, 1000 dock slot cost a lot of gems and being F2P meant most of your free gems are to expand it

Haethen_Thegn

I know it wouldn't exactly be meta most likely, but what 3rd main and Vanguard fleet would go with each of the carrier divisions? I've been trying to search it up myself but I don't actually know that much about the IJN beyond what the mainstream education system said (and the songs although even then they're more Army/Meiji than naval).

Nice-Spize

Nagato, she have a 20% dmg bonus for carriers which is great but the main drawback is that Nagato's big 7 barrage, while strong have a very low proc rate of just 40% Vanguard is whoever you have for a tank / support / off-tank Which of the carrier division you choose belongs to a different role: * Fox sister = Mob * Bunnies = Either mob or boss * Crane = Boss

Haethen_Thegn

That's getting filed away for later, thanks, but I was meaning in terms of historical fleet compositions.

Nice-Spize

Then Nagato would also make sense since she's the leader of the Combined Fleet, remnants of whichever carrier/battleship that survived post-midway

Haethen_Thegn

Fair enough for that. Iirc Mutsu was sunk with Akagi and Kaga so perhaps that can be one too?

Nice-Spize

If you wish then you're good to go but I wouldn't want to trade away the damage buff unless you bring along Kazagumo in your vanguard

MetagrossMaxis

So....curiosity, what happens if you get 2 U556 Metas? Like, you can't retire them. Or can you ONLY get one in total via random drops, build pool or the event shop. Because I feel that could lead to problems, unless they are auto converted into crystals. In which case, what happens to the extra spare crystals?

Nice-Spize

Dupes are automatically converted into crystals for limit breaking If there are excess crystals then it'll be turned into META fragments to buy stuff in META shop

Baltrak

> they are auto converted into crystals This. > what happens to the extra spare crystals? They get converted into currency for the META shop.

Khoal23

Dupes are converted into crystals.

Lolanto909

Hey is the CVL jades healing any good

Nice-Spize

Nothing special, Unicorn have a much better heal + damage, fleet wide heal on first strike and the vanguard on subsequent launch far outstrip Jade

Lexumunous

It's nothing special. Only 1 unaimed target and it also has an 8s delay after launch which might not work well with quick fights. Unicorn kai is far better. She heals the entire fleet on first launch for 5%, with the lowest backline ship getting 8% total heal, and subsequent launches target the whole vanguard.

cheekywarship2018

No, it's targetting is random and it only heals one ship per airstrike.

molten_panda

Anybody else kind of annoyed that the EN translation has Anchorage calling her **orca** a "shark"? It's not a damn shark TL team!

Ailtus

I also took it as an intentional use of Shark instead of Orca, given that Anchorage isnt really the brightest bulb due to the developmental issues she seems to have. She might just not know the difference.

mrmime1

Eh, can't really blame them too much. Idk if they had the art when doing the translation, but in CN and JP the scripts used the words "鲨鱼" and "サメ" respectively, which literally meant shark. And it's not like those 2 languages don't have words for orca/killer whale.

faithfulheresy

So it's not a translation issue? That's new. XD

Medmael

I see PvE guides everywhere, but there is any PvP guide?

cheekywarship2018

[Yes there is.](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1BewmBsf4EWKAf_UwYax05c7ksL51y6sjs96pIwD73Jc/edit?usp=sharing)

ninaisunderrated

Ooh, they've updated it since I last saw it a few months ago!

hegeliansynthesis

Would the triple BB now include Bismarck II in place of Mus or NJ since Bis-II can buff FDG?

cheekywarship2018

Musashi is key to this comp so she's definitely not getting replaced. I doubt Bismarck 2 is replacing either FDG or NJ in the MILF comp. She lacks FDG's proximity barrage and isn't as tanky. And NJ has been a staple since her release in PVP. Still though, very if any have actually managed to max her skills let alone test her in a season so give it a bit of time.

hegeliansynthesis

True. From what I can see Musashi constently does 33-50% more damage than the other two. So I guess Bis-II might be an alternative for NJ.

xDeathcraftx

I just finished my first PR ship, I used some blueprints to reach dev lvl9, do I just run a mission to make up the difference?

cheekywarship2018

Which PR ship? If it's a PR1, PR2, PR3, or DR2 ship you just coin them to Dev 30 and then the catchup for that season to prototype cores. I reccoemnd reading this [research guide](https://azurlane.koumakan.jp/wiki/User:Samheart564/Research_Guide).

kyoshiro_y

Btw, cheeky, the New Reddit seems to keep butchering a URL underscore if you simply copy pasted it directly. The easiest way to fix this that I can think of is by using something like this `[here](url)` (ie using an alternative text).

cheekywarship2018

Got it. Thanks for the heads up.

[deleted]

What's the best purple AA gun?

ninaisunderrated

Anything with "bofors" in its name will usually serve you well.

Nice-Spize

Any gun tbh, the only place you'll want some serious AA is chapter 13 and even then you can just slap gold on everyone and let it rip

GamingMunster

So I have some questions for the people that are the experts here. I used to be pretty active with azur lane and within this thread, but the last few months my interest fell off, though Im finally getting back into it! I have done stuff like dailies, research etc. and building when an event interests me. So this is a very general sort of question, but has there been any big changes to the meta in terms of exercises, equipment, shipgirls going from good to being bad or vice versa etc. Its just this is the stuff I need to know if I want to really get back into the game. Also one thing is I still dont have NJ, so sadly I cant use her even though she is really good :(

hegeliansynthesis

Just play casual until youre ready to go more full throttle again. By the time you do you will have amassed a nice collection of resources to delve into/use when you come back. Also NJ rerun is 1-6 weeks after this new UR event finishes so you will get her soon. There's a new UR DD gun coming in gear lab so that might spice things up. (Hopefully for Harbin.) Bismarck II is new so not much is said about her at the moment. But apparently she's good for anti-light fleets. Also we're getting another collab rerun this year and there will be a new Tempiesta unit so Royal Fortune is getting a sister...

GamingMunster

Yeah I heard about the NJ rerun so thats good, got more than enough cubes for it! And a new DD gun would be great, esp since I love using harbin.

hegeliansynthesis

Nice. Congrats on getting her already then. The event just has to happen to make it real. There's also a new mode coming back called Challenge Mode. Last time apparently it gave portriat frames as rewards. Not sure what it will be this time. I like Harbin as well. Can't wait for her oath skin though I feel she looks a little pregnant in it.

GamingMunster

>though I feel she looks a little pregnant in it. Skk had a bit of fun then I guess-

hexanort

IIRC pvp havent got any new notable unit since musashi Equipment is moving very slowly, last time we got a notable gear was last dec-january with yorktown's dive bomber, gear lab update and some ryza equipments. Last 2 UR didnt come with any UR gear and there's no notable new gear from events after yorktown II event as well. Meta comp hasnt received much innovation, the new URs is some of the best ship around like usual, Yorktown II estabilished anti-light carrier fleet, while implac replaces ark royal in standard carrier fleet, bismark likely gonna be new best BB against light armor. No old ship got notable enough buff to be BiS, kawakaze got decent augment module but stil fall short of yuudachi AFAIK, while nelson got good retrofit but wont really be competing with UR BB anytime soon. ---- TLDR, not much happened in terms of innovation or gameplay shift since the start of the new year, we havent got any new story chapter or endgame bossess.

GamingMunster

Ok cool, thats great. And also another question I heard with the new meta boss there was some changes in regards to having to use your own META ships against it? Is that true or can I just roll with whatever meta comp I can come up with using my already levelled ships.

hexanort

Queen elizabeth meta spawn some minion that's immune to direct damage except from meta ship, which can block some shot or torp bomber from hitting the boss, so you're forced to run meta ship if you're looking to 1-shot it. But one-shotting meta fight is pretty irrelevant, you can still two shot it with regular non-META fleet. Algerie meta is coming in like 6 days so we'll see whether the "Forced-META" mechanic will stick on.

GamingMunster

>But one-shotting meta fight is pretty irrelevant, you can still two shot it with regular non-META fleet. Yeahhh but I like doing it in one go!

Nice-Spize

That was about Queen Elizabeth META, her boss gimmick was that she took bonus damage from META ships and she spawn Knights that have a 100% resistance to any damage source from non-META ships, save for flood damage

GamingMunster

ah and I guess from your wording there is a different meta ship now that doesnt have this gimmick?

Nice-Spize

Not sure, the next META is Algerie and we don't know her gimmick

Baltrak

Queen Elizabeth META showdown during the upcoming week and will be replaced by Algérie META. We don't know what her mechanics will be yet.

GamingMunster

Ahhh ok I havent kept up with the stuff so I had no clue, perfect, thanks

Baconpwn2

New Jersey returning soon(ish). Thing is, with Bismarck, she's not needed. The difference between the two against medium or heavy armor is negligible. The Black Dragon's only edge is her pinpoint accuracy and her ability to trigger burns with AP guns. On paper, which assumes perfect accuracy (which Bismarck cannot claim), Bismarck can beat her. How recent is a few months? Because Implacable, Bismarck, and the two retrofits are the only noteworthy changes this year. You haven't really missed much.

GamingMunster

Aight cool, just all the new stuff with that rainbow AA and all was kinda confusing me, also would it be grand if I asked you about fleet comps for W14? I never got about to finishing 14-3/4

hegeliansynthesis

For w14 mob vanguard I really like Jervis-Plymouth-Janus. Then the classic unicorn-musashi-volga to support them. I'm told fdg might be better though. Musashi does take a bit of damage though but slaps back hard in return.

GamingMunster

Mhm I was thinking running FdG in mob and Momsashi in the boss fleet perhaps. And yeah Ill definitely need to up unicorn, though I guess perseus can do the job too.

cheekywarship2018

What ships do you have? There's multiple comps that work for W14 these days and gearing will be just as important as the ships you use.

GamingMunster

[https://imgur.com/a/qs5B9P6](https://imgur.com/a/qs5B9P6) here is my collection, I skipped over a number but thats the most of them

cheekywarship2018

Mob: FDG, Unicorn Retro, Chkalov, Plymouth, Harbin, Yudachi Retro Boss: Musashi, Shinano, Hakuryu, Agir, Anchorage, Jeanne d' Arc Here's the [gear for the fleet](https://x94fujo6rpg.github.io/AzurLaneFleet/?AFLD=No4ZgBgRigWBOANADgKwVhRtVy1ANlk0QCZitTVkJ9ppSsAiAdmQENOunsBdRYKnjx6KdCRx4yBGfhYEssKVAiMojRKw5dOPWP2ClhEdGVKka2XCUIVEUefjA3VDZmx26%2BB4C2Mr7eGUgkjRUBXs7MGQXFlUNLU92PQMEEQ04dCwwcwjSWTkIsGo6BXV3bR0UgUYFMCRSFhzKGNppBSwCS1hnOjjzCqSU-igfYBpGDTRCRWt8IhtHe177V3LND09q4ChjSGWZxFQ7fNl7JazVzHXErb4BNJNFClnlBcKnF2uEzarvAXAxlMjWaiHqK2ikHwdi6fXigzu%2BgEkFwbWcUEsOXylAKiA69mxqzKP0q3Hu4AgcUxyHI2XgKwsmGhNjsKn6JKG-1GvAAhBAAHSUnn0sAAMyMAFMgA). Unicorn Retro is being used over Perseus is because she's flat-out better in W14 to a degree where it isn't even funny. Unicorn not being hindered by a massive increase to her airstrike cool down like Perseus allows her to really pull ahead in the DPS and vanguard healing department. This is especially crucial as the toughest mob waves come later in the fight. DON'T pick up flare period as they scuff targeting for your BBs and make clears more RNG by messing with concealment.

Nice-Spize

Mob: FDG / Volga / Unicorn + Kronk / Wakatsuki / Yuudachi Boss: Musashi / NJ / Hakuryuu + Agir / Plymouth / Anchorage That's what I recently used, Wakatsuki gets the Hedgehog and Unicorn use the ASW plane + Albion's excerise report aux while Volga have the Magic Fairy poster to reduce chance of being hit, courtesy from zenith

GamingMunster

Why Wakatsuki? Also as I said in the original comment, I have no NJ but I assume I could just stick in BisZwei in her place yes?

Nice-Spize

Wakatsuki have a special built-in depth charge launcher from her skill that does roughly on par with the Hedgehog minus the range so her having the Hedgehog would free up Yuudachi's aux slot NJ can be swapped out for another carrier, last time it was Illustrious with the module to keep the vanguard alive owing to my crappy phone Bismarck 2 is better off in a mob fleet from the last time I checked but yeah, she can be placed in a boss fleet in a pinch I personally run 2 CVs in the boss fleet since I manual the whole way through and 2 CVs meant twice the charhe to delete the arcing shells

GamingMunster

Also another question why unicorn over perseus?

Nice-Spize

Chapter 14 is too hard and long for Perseus to remain viable, Unicorn maintains a much more stable DPS and don't suffer the increased loading time penalty while keeps a preload Perseus struggles a lot in no ammo fights Not to mention her retrofit bumps her into a Perseus Lite but better. I would argue that Unicorn is now the best healer in the entire game for general use

faithfulheresy

I'm not even sure there's an argument to be had. The only place Perseus beats unicorn now is specifically in backline healing, and when you get unlucky in W14 your backline disappears so fast it's not particularly relevant.

Nice-Spize

Don't get wrong, Perseus is still busted but Unicorn hits a better balance between healing and damage which arguably makes the latter more valuable

Bramity

I'm not sure about W14 stuff, but in terms of META showdowns and OpSi Bismarck Zwei seems to consistently outdamage NJ in the boss fleet against any armor type. Black Hole helps Musashi land more hits as well which is very handy.

Nice-Spize

Hmm seems like it could be a big boon here

cheekywarship2018

Bismarck 2 hasn't been looking all that good for W14 mobbing at least compared to the gold standards of FDG and Musashi. Her intercept isn't really anything notable neither is her ability to just tank damage.

Nice-Spize

Right, I forgot that I read thre whole thing from Zenith's minmax post

Knightmare33

What teams is everyone using to auto stages 14? I want to strive for a team that can auto those stages.

hegeliansynthesis

For w14 mob unicorn-musashi-volga jervis-plymouth-janus.

cheekywarship2018

That depends on what you have really. There are multiple comps that can work for W14 auto and your gear set up matters just as much as the ships you use.

Knightmare33

Ah okay I'll com back when I get the units I am seeing everyone leveling. Like yuudachi which I for some reason don't have lol

Nice-Spize

Chapter 14 is RNG based enough that there's not a 100% consistent set up for a full on auto and that's running top of the line ships What I'm using is on *manual* back then Mob: FDG / Volga / Unicorn + Kronk / Wakatsuki / Yuudachi Boss: Musashi / Hakuryuu / Illustrious + Agir / Plymouth / Anchorahe

cheekywarship2018

>there's not a 100% consistent set up for a full on auto and that's running top of the line ships I would beg to disagree. There are comps that will auto-clear W14 lethal easily but you need to be mindful fo stagger and timing of your main fleet ships especially.

Nice-Spize

Guess I'm wrong then but it's still true that getting there would be a long run Not that there's much reason to farm W14 outside of new orleans or cog chips

Turbofied

I'm trying to make a fleet based around the current event but am stuck between putting in Zuikaku or Vestal META, which one is probably better to put in?

Nice-Spize

Zuikaku She's miles better than Vestal in the current situation, yes even her META version is reportedly crap too

broke_saturn

How’s Baltimore performance wise? Is she worth building ?

Zroshift

Performance is okay considering her class. You have to remember that the CA class is heavily overloaded with really good ships. However, depending on how you use her, her performance changes. She has two modes. The first mode is that you can run her in a fleet without US carriers so that she can buff herself. You give her speed/evasion auxiliaries and put her in the off-tank role and she is good. But like I said earlier, the CA class is overloaded with good units, so there are other ships who can do this better now. Her other mode is where she shines. If you put her in a US CV/CVL comp, she becomes a buffer for them. She has seen a lot of use in Yorktown 2 compositions.

broke_saturn

Thanks I’ll keep her carrier mode in mind

Nice-Spize

Bremerton is Baltimore's sister and it lines up with the more offensive-oriented mind than Balti do btw

Nice-Spize

Nowadays she's a standard offensive CA with some minor USS buffs, great offense but average durability so she's not well-suited as a tank If you want to get her as a waifu then go ahead but I wouldn't recommend it until you've got the essentials covered

broke_saturn

Got it, thanks! I just pulled her yesterday and couldn’t find much on the sub about her other than fan art lol.

Nice-Spize

Make sure to have an actual tank in a vanguard with her, Baltimore is not durable enough to withstand heavy fire so she favor the far right spot

Either through a VPN or support 3rd party apps

[deleted]

Nice-Spize

Well, you use VPNs and open up the playstore to buy stuff on a different region entirely while as for the the 3rd party app, you can try find your local apps first. I would also email to Yostar's customer service for help about this too, their email is [email protected]

MisterTV

I can't find the option to partake at the current survey.

faithfulheresy

Thanks for reminding me to do it. XD I'm glad they have questions about the collab event, hopefully they get good feedback and don't run any more of them.

Nice-Spize

I actually liked it returning but with more optimization

faithfulheresy

I just don't like collabs in general. They break the core concepts of the game, and they feel cheap. WoWS is an exception, it fits.

Nice-Spize

I don't see it being anything bad for the players, they can still skip it after all if they don't like it >They break the core concepts of the game, and they feel cheap. My man, we've broken the rule long ago with the Neptunia collab

faithfulheresy

Well, I'd argue that it's bad for players because that's development, story, and art time that *could* have gone to another in-universe event. But I take your point, Neptunia has always been... a thing. XD Edit: always love receiving downvotes for respectful discussions. Great job at not being toxic guys!

Nice-Spize

Collabs do mean more time to write and extend the lifespan of the game to get there after all Besides, most of us are here for the horny boats

faithfulheresy

Do they? I dunno, I feel that the random, meaningless interludes of the collab events are more likely to shorten the lifespan of the game in the longer term than they are to extend it. The game isn't even close to running out of ships, especially now that the "2" concept is being utilised, and in terms of story they have literally limitless scope. So there's no issue with running out of material if they stop doing collabs. They do pretty well with the horni boats in universe, let's have more of those!

Nice-Spize

>Do they? I dunno, I feel that the random, meaningless interludes of the collab events are more likely to shorten the lifespan of the game in the longer term than they are to extend it. That's what you feel but in reality it basically lets both side rake in profit if the collab went well and open the gate of influence. Hololive collab is a good example of this >The game isn't even close to running out of ships, especially now that the "2" concept is being utilised, and in terms of story they have literally limitless scope. So there's no issue with running out of material if they stop doing collabs. Yeah but do you really want to see the same set of cast but under the Type 2 shade in the next 5 years? I mean we all do but it is a tool best used sparingly to avoid being tired out Collabs brought in fresh air and it is nice to see that Manjuu/Yongshi were willing to go absolutely ham to make it memorable

CrippleMyDepression

Not to mention that the Ryza event was probably our highest effort event ever. And SSSS brought ships that I still use frequently, plus it got me to watch the anime for it which I enjoyed. I'd definitely say the Collabs are a net positive ![img](emote|t5_3p20d|7193)

CrippleMyDepression

From the main screen, on the right side there is a row of buttons. One of them says Notice, that will bring up the message you see when you first login. The survey link is on the front page of that notice right now.

MisterTV

Thank you!

zurcn

did you tap the "notice" button on the main screen?

Skylair13

San Diego and Helena haven't been powercrept much right? Planning on retrofitting them. Though, bigger priority on Helena as she's cheaper material-wise.

Nice-Spize

San Diego still reign supreme in AA but that's a very niche thing to be good at and her surface damage got powercreeped by newer ones like Harbin. Juneau's retrofit does the same thing as Sandy but much cheaper so you're more likely to be recommended here As for Helena, she still remains as the go-to option to pick for boss fleets for the most part so nothing much have changed

Skylair13

I see, I think I'll make Juneau and San Diego reach 90 before deciding. Already started a bit with Helena. Though my greed makes me tempted to do all 3.

Nice-Spize

I would go for Juneau first, her retrofit lets you have what's essentially a San Diego Lite, same mgm +1 with barrages and strong AA but much cheaper to make Helena's retrofit don't really bring any big shiny kit, it primarily patch up her durability to be a bit better but still squishy San Diego is at the bottom of the priority, I would not touch it unless you've already limit broken all other SR ships with the bulins needed for the retrofit

Skylair13

Right, got a dupe Juneau left after MLB, so I won't even use a bulin for retro. Might do Ark Royal too alongside her, cause the art is really cool. Speaking of should I convert T1 carrier prints? Got 100 T1s and 50 T2s.

Nice-Spize

>Speaking of should I convert T1 carrier prints? Got 100 T1s and 50 T2s. I would hold for now, make a mental note on how many prints you need for the remaining retrofits and convert the rest

faithfulheresy

Not at all, they're both still excellent. Helena's ability is especially unlikely to be power crept, it's just too strong.

nntktt

San Diego remains the top AA and has good ASW, but her general capacity in terms of DPS and durability don't hold up as well as some newer CLs. Considering how much AA you'll actually need, Juneau Retrofit tends to get recommended more nowadays just by being much cheaper while offering similar capacity otherwise and also being useful for PvP. Helena remains the single most potent generic damage buffer.

Mylordisthatlegal

For mewofficers, is Avi/fp better or rld? I've got two arks and deciding which one to roll : ace pilot and reload or officer and Avi.

Nice-Spize

AVI/FP is usually better, RLD in this context only matters much if you want to do some timing adjustments

nntktt

RLD is only better if it allows you better timing/one more launch/salvo.

LingonberryAwkward38

Do we know if Plymouth's "bonus damage for the BB flagship" skill has an effect on Geryon's damage if Bismarck 2 is the flagship?

nntktt

Yes. But depending on what boss you're fighting Musashi still has a higher baseline to scale off than BisZwei.

whosunghyosung

is there a list of purple gear that's useless? my depot is getting full but I'm afraid of getting rid of something useful (all whites and blues are trashed)

kyoshiro_y

There are [two](https://azurlane.koumakan.jp/wiki/User:Thebombzen/Safe_To_Scrap_MK_II) [guides](https://azurlane.koumakan.jp/wiki/User:Itsfyh/Equipment_Guide/Safe_to_Scrap) that I know about.

faithfulheresy

If you're afraid to throw it out, purple gear is perfect for levelling ships that you're only doing for fleet tech. When you equip it to them, it doesn't count toward the limits on your equipment storage.

Kumiho-Kisses

Thus far through W10 I have enjoyed progressing -- and leisurely developing P and DR Ships as convenience allows -- by raising primarily faction-specific fleets. More specifically, I select and typically concentrate on leveling my favorite of the most 'meta' ships to make up a full six-ship deployment by faction, beginning with a 'basic' 2 BB, CV / CA, DD, CL framework, and then adjusting to accommodate specific shipgirls such as healers, sister bonuses, a preponderance of certain Main and / or Vanguard classes over others, etcetera. Supposing that I adapted things appropriately, would it be possible to continue using such an approach in the remaining few worlds, or will they still require more thoughtful and specialized fleetbuilding? Additionally, I am curious as to at what point is it considered necessary for my shipgirls reach level cap and be equipping full sets of +10 / +13 equipment to continue progressing?

Nice-Spize

>Additionally, I am curious as to at what point is it considered necessary for my shipgirls reach level cap and be equipping full sets of +10 / +13 equipment to continue progressing? For ships, you uncap their level along the way to minimize the gap. In later stages, you'll be trying to reduce the power gap and thus lower the amount of damage they take and dmg penalty For gear, you can actually progress just fine with +10 equip but you should start doing so once you're at chapter 12 or earlie. Getting gears to +13 is mostly unnecessary for the most part other than it make things go faster Auxiliary equipment don't get much benefit from it since it only just buff the overall stat it gives but weapons get a noticeable Damage Modifier upgrade that directly increase its coefficiency by 4%/10%/18% per level >Supposing that I adapted things appropriately, would it be possible to continue using such an approach in the remaining few worlds, or will they still require more thoughtful and specialized fleetbuilding? Depends purely on what gamemode/stage you're referring to, each stage have different gimmicks to adapt to so it's usually not possible to stick to a certain format Chapter 10/11 for example favor BBs more due to the suicide boats Chaptee 12/13 favor CVs and Cruisers in general due to the sheer number of aircraft present but almost no suicide boats Chapter 14 returns back to the BB/CV mix and the vanguard favor high evasion ships like DDs and CLs due to the night battle mechanic ane other hazards Operation Siren would require seperate fleet conps to tackle: 1 mob fleet + 3 boss fleet

Kumiho-Kisses

Thank you very much for your most informative breakdown of the later World gimmicks; I definitely intend to refer back to them for fleetbuilding reference once I do arrive at the appropriate Worlds! I imagine that your suggested Operation Siren set-up is such that a Commander would be able to clear the majority of Daily Missions and sectors with the mob fleet on auto, with the boss fleets largely being kept in reserve for fighting Abyssals, Siren Strongholds, and Arbiter (if I ever reach her). Does this allow for any room to rotate in new shipgirls for leveling past lvl. 100, since OpSi seems, to me, at least, a prime activity to take advantage of for farming ship experience?

Nice-Spize

Correct, the majority of the work are done by your mob fleet while the 3 boss fleet (triple BB, triple CV and reserve) are for beating whatever abyssals and strongholds you face Arbiters are different in that each month is a different boss and you'll want all 4 fleets to be geared towards killing the boss >Does this allow for any room to rotate in new shipgirls for leveling past lvl. 100, since OpSi seems, to me, at least, a prime activity to take advantage of for farming ship experience? Only for the mob fleet but I wouldn't recommend picking OpSi as a place to farm ship XP since it gives out so little. Even the corrosion 6 zones give less XP than chapter 7 iirc. The one upside yo it is that it doesn't cost oil and morale never drains Best spots are always the oil capped maps

nntktt

You can get up to ch12 by overleveling and generally just using good ships plus proper gearing. Ch13 will be rough if you don't start looking at getting better AA or using proper carriers and planes. Ch14 is another different animal but probably not something you'll have to worry about now. OS would again prefer a different set of comps, and META would depend on how much you bother on minmaxing the results. Auxiliaries not so much, but weapons gain 18% damage going from +10 to +13. They're not a necessity but I think you can see how the damage difference is going to change how much difficulty you experience.

Kumiho-Kisses

Thank you for your reply! I must concur, an additional +18% damage from 'simply' upgrading weapons from +10 to +13 is most certainly not to be sniffed at\~ ![img](emote|t5_3p20d|6995) I spent some time re-familiarizing myself with [YourWaifuIsShip's Tierless guide](https://github.com/YourWaifuIsShip/Azur-Lane-Guides/blob/master/AL%20Tierless%20Guide.md) and now feel confident that I understand whom the 'AA carry' shipgirls to raise are. However, while said guide and the [English Community CV Tier List](https://slaimuda.github.io/ectl/#/main/cv) seem fairly good indicators as to what 'proper carriers' are, I was wondering how sizeable is the difference in effectiveness between the various fighters? (I guess the numbers themselves do not matter so much to me as whether one can '*feel'* having equipped, the F6F Hellcat versus Reppuu, say?)

nntktt

In terms of surface damage there's not much difference between all of the 2x500lb bomb fighters, but Hellcat's AA is significantly stronger than Reppuu. Above Hellcat would be Pirate squad, but we don't really recommend spending data cores on them anymore, as the gear lab Tigercat and Pancake/Flapjack have better bombs and enough AA.

faithfulheresy

You can keep doing that easily until the end of W12. W13 needs a stronger focus on AA, but as long as you have good fighter cover and at least one AA carry in the fleet it'll generally get you there. For faction fleets, both USS and HMS have extremely good AA and clear W13 easily. W14 is a very different kettle of fish. You want to be using very strong fleets generally, and of you don't have all of the "meta" ships then faction fleets probably aren't practical.

Kumiho-Kisses

Thank you for the reply! Hmm, I see that in addition to the aforementioned USS (CLs Reno, San Diego Kai, Seattle; DDs Allen M. Summer, Ingraham) and HMS (CA Cheshire, CLs Curlew and Curacoa Kai, Dido and Dido muse) AA-focused shipgirls, [YourWaifuIsShip's Tierless guide](https://github.com/YourWaifuIsShip/Azur-Lane-Guides/blob/master/AL%20Tierless%20Guide.md) additionally considers IJN Isuzu Kai to be a "best AA carry". Somewhat to my surprise, I seem to have completely overlooked Isuzu's drop-only status and she is missing from my Dock entirely; is she also worth farming and raising to be used as such if I wanted to run a Sakura Empire fleet in W13? Otherwise, just to double-check, I assume I can use that the [English Community's Tier List](https://slaimuda.github.io/ectl/) Tiers EX, 0, and 1 (say) as a benchmark for which girls are most 'meta' to run in W14?

faithfulheresy

Yeah, for W14 you generally want to be running ships from T1 or higher, unless you can identify a strength or synergy from a "weaker" ship that you want to build with. For example, Janus and Javelin are considered "Tier 2", but when you use them with Jervis they all benefit from cross buffing each other. They also have some of the strongest ASW in the game (iirc, Janus has *the* strongest ASW), and 14-3 and 14-4 have a lot of submarines which allows these girls to put in work. On the other hand, the top IJN destroyers don't really need the synergies, you can just put them in the same role (as Janus and Javelin, they can't tank like Jervis can so you need another tank) and get the job done without the build limitations. Most T2 ships are very strong when you use them in the right fleet. T0 ships are pretty much *always* strong.
